The editorial office is responsible for the academic quality of the centre's journals, the review procedure and publication ethics.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philology, Associate Professor. Sets the publishing policy and approves editorial decisions.

Peer review

The path a manuscript takes

All papers are handled in the same way, regardless of the author's position or institution.

Submission and technical check

The manuscript is checked against the requirements and screened for plagiarism (up to 3 days).

Editorial assessment

The editor-in-chief decides whether the topic fits the journal's scope (up to 5 days).

Double-blind peer review

At least two independent experts assess the paper (3–4 weeks).

Revision

The author revises the text in response to the reviewers' comments (up to 2 weeks).

Final decision and publication

The decision is announced, a DOI is assigned and the paper is placed in an issue.

Publication ethics

The centre's journals follow the recommendations of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). The following principles are binding on all participants:

  • The manuscript must be original and not under consideration by another publication.
  • All sources must be correctly cited and listed in the references.
  • Authorship is granted only to those who made a genuine contribution to the work.
  • Conflicts of interest and funding sources must be disclosed.
  • Reviewers keep the content of manuscripts confidential and give impartial assessments.
